Volunteer needed We will be re-launching the Cancer Support Group in Clooney Hall in the autumn and are looking for a volunteer to facilitate the group. No counselling experience is necessary. The facilitator will be meeting and greeting the other participants and ensuring that agreed basic ground rules regarding areas such as confidentiality are observed. We would also ask the facilitator to maintain contact with participants if they are unable to attend periodically due to treatment schedules. The group has met twice each month in the past, these meetings being held in the afternoon. If you can help us with this project, please contact the circuit office on 7134 8531. Thursday 16 September – Cancer Support Services Exhibition in Clooney Hall – 10.30 to 4.00 We are hosting an exhibition of support services available to local people who have had a diagnosis of cancer and also their carers, family members or close friends. This exhibition will coincide with the re-launch of our own cancer support group. If you would like to find out more about these services you are invited to attend. If you know an organisation involved in providing these services and interested in setting up a stand, manned by their own staff or volunteers, or providing literature that can be distributed on their behalf, please contact our office on 7134 8531. No charge will be made for participation in this event. Each Monday evening starting on Monday 27 September – Clooney Crafters – Quilting group – 7.00 to 9.00 The group will be making sampler quilts this year as the taught project provided by Christine Mitchell. During the year we will be developing our skills by making a range of different traditional blocks and by doing so learning new techniques.
